John Read

8th June 1957 - 9th June  2022 

John joined the DRAG-ENS in November 1992 and at the time had a 1923 T Bucket which he had built. He later purchased a 1937 Ford four door sedan from South Australia which he drove for many years as his daily driver. About 2001 he took the sedan off the road and did a full body off rebuild and update resulting in a car that he took top 4 door sedan at Sydney Hot Rod Show in 2005. 

The time and dedication that he gave to our club was memorable. He served on several committees and was instrumental in helping and providing time and goods and services in the building and renovations of the club rooms. John was always available if there was anything that needed doing or job to be filled and always with his ever present Hugh smile and Happy chuckle."
